Fresh Louisiana Seafood from the Dock to Your Dish
Kenney Seafood was incorporated in 1972 and existed for 17 years before there was ever a store to walk into. It was the fishing operation of Robert Kenney, captain of an 80-foot steel hull shrimp boat that helped supply the market that opened in Slidell in 1989.
Kenney’s son-in-law Brian Cappy now runs the retail operation, which relies on supply from an array of fishers to keep the long lines of customers satisfied. The kitchen boils crawfish in 50-pound pots during the season, which means it’s churning out fresh, hot batches every half-hour to hour.
The City of Slidell sits just above the City of New Orleans, north of Lake Pontchartrain. Slidell is just a 25 minute commute to New Orleans. Slidell is a diverse city with many amenities. Fishing, hunting, boating, sailing, canoeing find easy access on Lake Pontchartrain, Bayou Bonfouca, and the Pearl River.
Kids especially enjoy the swamp tours of our pristine Honey Island Swamp and numerous parades, 30 parks, youth rec. leagues, and summer recreation programs. Find happiness in perfectly fried shrimp, a mountain of spicy boiled crawfish, and many other world-famous New Orleans dishes at Kenney Seafood.
